Saturday & Real Life Takes Over

Saturday's ride was good. 1:45 road ride. Able to keep my HR where I wanted even in 90 degree heat.

Real Life: Horrible news. My mechanic and pit boss Tom's son Jesse was attack by a German Shepherd yesterday. Severe damage to face and head, and nerve damage. Was Life Flighted to Children's Hospital and had emergency surgery on his nerves. Doctors say it went as well as expected, but only time will tell. I am absolutely sick about this. Just puts life in perspective. You obsess about a race or fitness and some times forget about the things that are so important.

Tom insists that he'll be in the pit come Saturday. I told him that that is the least of our worries and that I can get by no prob. I have two bikes, enough lights and Wifey and B-Man to fetch food. Getting additional lights from Kev too, may be able to convince him to help out.
