Wool: It Ain't Cotton (A Public Service Message)
Baa, Baa, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir- three bags full:
One for the master, one for some dame,
And one for that dude that rides his bike down the lane.
Rock on Black Sheep!
Wool rocks 'cause it's cool in summer, warm in winter and low in the stink factor.
I've been diggin wool socks for ages and with Salsa now selling some sweet long and short sleeve wool jerseys, arm warmers and leg warmers I'll hoping to be wear some more in the near future. The are also some other cool places to get some wool goods. here's some help.
Salsa Rocks. Maker of great frames and now some kick ass wool duds.

To order check out bikeman.com (shameless sponsor plug. but seriously, do it!).
Swobo is back!!! Hefty price with a HUGE bike messenger cool factor. Just when Wifey and I started to make enough jing that I thought I'd roll in Swobo duds, they went under. But they're back. Downside, I'm poor again. (shit!) I especially love this hat...

Yikes, $36 retail for a hat!
Of course there's the maker of my fave socks: Smartwool. Uber comfy. Uber cool. Pricey, but can be found on close out at places like Campmor.
Spot Brand (of Fatmarc fame) also makes a line of wool duds. Check 'em out here.
Local mag pub Dirt Rag has been selling some wool swag lately too.
My faves are these sockies...

If you're into brown and argyle (and I think that you are).
Wool. It's what's for Christmas. Or at least what I plan to buy with some holiday booty!
Later.

Those Dirt Rag socks are made by DeFeet. They are the Woolie Boolie. I love these socks. During the winter months I wear them on the bike and off
I was gonna include the DeFeet, but when I noticed that the DR socks were made by them I saved time. I'm sure they're super comfy on the tootzes.
later.

Ibex wool gear is the shit! My woman bought me some last xmas and i've been hooked since. This morning it was 10 degrees and was sweating in the thinest Ibex wool bottoms they make. It would have taken twice the density of Patagonia capilene to keep warm. Not to knock on patagonia capilene, as it is also pretty awesome stuff...
