Moving Fast and Going Nowhere
Got two hours on the trainer tonight. Included one 30 minute TT at threshold and 30 minutes of slow, knee splitting, Ulrich like, seated climbing intervals. The rest was spin-ups and down to warm up and cool down.
Legs are spent. I can't help but wonder what 2 hours of constant spinning vs. 2 hours of reg ride time = in actual RPMs. If anyone has used a computer with a candense counter and compared, let me know.
In music I continue to search the net for new items. Found this gem. Some of today's best boot-remixers and mash up artists have a go at one of my 90s faves. DK you might dig.

NOW you are doing something to help me. About time dingus.
I do what I can 2 year anniversary boy.
i've wondered (and asked) the same question in regards to trainer time vs outside riding time (and would love to see some numbers on it as well).
a couple folks told me their coaches say trainer time is equal to 125-130% of regular time (120' trainer = 150' outside). But, i've also read (by some random coach on mtbr.com) that it's harder to maintain a high HR on the trainer. however, i think that's becuase you get zero breaks on the trainer, it's just go time the whole time, no downhills, no chance to "quickly" ditch that lactic acid. no matter how you look at it, 2hrs on the stairmaster (you're a lunatic) or trainer is good stuff.
Thanks for the input JW. Since I ditched the HR monitor I have no way of knowing some exact #s, but PE is a good indication. I was spent.
Thanks!
That's a vicious workout dude. You're gonna be tearin' it up this year. Well done.
I've heard the numbers like Jeff. But I've also heard up to 150%.
Depends upon your mindset. Sometimes I can get on the trainer and go hell's bell's till I'm cross-eyed and sick. Other times I have trouble just getting my HR up there. Thank God the spring is almost here.
Shit J.B., I can only hope. Just want to try to hang. Every year I gotta step it up just to stay mediocre..
