Oh F It!
UPDATE: FLOYDIS SPEAKS: Taken VeloNews.com once again without the slightest bit of permission.
Fingers crossed here that his all ends up ok. Same with Basso and Jan. Time will tell.
The real downside to all this is that I was REALLY looking forward to heckling Bonds at the Bucco game tomorrow, but now I would just feel stupid.

WTF Floydis? Still nothing proven yet and I read over on Velonews.com that many of these get overturned, but it sucks for the sport. He's one in a long list of guys I want to believe (Tyler, Basso, Jan, and yes EVEN Lance) but will always have trouble. I may be done with following the roadies as a whole. It sucks because they're the only cyclists that get any coverage.
One roadie I AM with is Dave Zabriskie. He's my man and I'm sticking with him. Just check out his Podcast site for some great stuff. Dude is too cool to be a roadie though, should be racing mountain bikes :)
Of course he'd be living out of a van and eating dog food to survive.
Check out Missingsaddle.com too. Good site. All road though, so no linky ;)
Short little spin on the trainer tonight.
Time to make up some burgs, rice and a beer.
Later.

Those of us looking for a hero better cowboy up and stand on our own two feet!
Vaughters comment on VN is on the mark. The T/N ratio test is pretty soft and easy to beat, but Floyd can never recover his reputation, regardless of guilt or innocence.
FWIW, my money says he's innocent, but he'll be beheaded all the same. Maybe it's a French plot to stymie another dominant American.
It's just so sad. Sometimes I have more respect for local riders who put up mad results almost every week for if they're lucky their entry fees back.
FL's rep destroyed no matter what. He'll get more press for this in the US than for winning.
Sad.
Man, I hope he's clean. Geez...
So at my next race, I'm thinking of trying a shot of Jack Daniel's the night before. :-)
Even if he beats the rap I dont believe him.
Im sorry but the day before I could have stayed with him on the last climb he was so slow.
then the next day he puts in a superhuman performance across 5 mountains, crosses the line with a wide eyed snarl & starts throwing bottles at people.
Thats all the hallmarks of high testosterone thats for sure.
Wifey said the same thing about the water bottle thowing. Have you read about that patch people use. You put in on your balls. Nice.
JD & beer at ALL races from now on for sure Travis.

For perspective...
I train a lot. I'm an MTBer, not a roadie - but in terms of CTL (chronic training load as measured by power file data) my training load is consistently up there with tour riders.
Why throw this up on your blog comments? Cause ukcraig doesn't think it's possible to spring back from a bad day without some external help. I'm here to say it can - and does - happen, and it's not infrequent. Some of my best training days (or power numbers, if you will) have come following bad days amidst very high training volume.
No drug assistance either, thanks very much!
Everyone has to choose what they believe, but I just wanted to toss it out there that Floyd's ride is certainly within the realm of possibility for a guy with his genetic and physchological makeup.
I do think any elite cyclist such as Floyd (or yourself for that matter) is capable of such a comeback. Even MORE with Tour riders. Entire staffs of cooks, message therepists, etc., etc., looking after you and ensuring that you recover.
I'm not saying he's clean or doped, I'm not expert, but anything is possible on any given day. I still hope for the best. For the the sake of America's view of cycling.

Hey Dave, no one more than me wants this story not to be true.
I take your point that it is possible to recover & perform well the next day BUTTTTTTTTT
His actions on crossing the line.
The fact he failed his test after that stage.
Phonaks record doesnt make good reading either,Guiterrez who was 2nd in the Giro & Botero are currently banned on doping charges.
Hamilton doped while riding for Phonak as well.
All this makes it harder to believe that he did that incredible solo breakaway clean although possible.
Its got nothing to do with anti American feelings. Basso,Ullrich & other high profile euros were thrown out at the start.Same rules for everyone!!!!!
I believe at least 75% of the peloton dopes & the continual evidence backs up my belief rather than a clean peloton.
sadly thats my opinion which im entitled to but I do respect yours my friend
