Down Time Isn't Too Bad... OK It Sucks

Been off the bike since Saturday. Kinda wanted to spin the legs on the trainer tonight, but I'm rockin' a scab in the butt-pit and figure one more day will have'r feeling better.

Been spending my time hanging with the B-Man, cleaning up the Dos Niner and working on my Beer drinking. GOD-DAMN the Victory Imperial Stout rocks (I hate Buddy for living so damn close to Victory!!!).

Speaking of beer, for some of you out there who share my love of quality beer and food, you should check out (relax everyone, I'm not pimping here, I'm just saying its' a freaking good read) The Brewmaster's Table by Garret Oliver (the Brewmaster at Brooklyn Brewing). Wifey got it for me a few years ago and it is an incredible companion to look up beer styles and food pairings.

Along with getting the Dos back in working order (it was a bent pad spring scraping my rotor at Big Bear, it's now, but needs some TLC.

I'm in the process of getting El Santo ready to sell. Hate to part with a great bike, but next year I'll either be rocking two 29ers, using the Dos as my main race bike or one bad ass 29er as my one and only.

I hate to give up a spare "pit bike" but the 29er bug has bit me hard and now 26ers just seem, well too small. Salsa, Titus, Dean, Niner Quiring, DeSalvo, Fisher, Orbea, Van Dessel, Kona, Felt, Cannondale, not sure whao it will be, but I'm all giddy like a school girl about the prospect of a 29er HT in 2007 to pair with my Dos Niner.

From what I've seen on the Net, Cannondale's Caffeine 29er is the sweetest stock 29er I've seen in photos from the the show.

As seen here at GoClipless.com. Swap some parts and this would be one light ass XC rig!

And here on the Dirt Rag web site...

WHY Do I love this bike? Stock bike come with a ton of stuff that would (IMHO) need swaped out though. Anyone know if it will be available as a frame/fork set? But then of course you'd need Lefty hub. HMMMM!

Just saw that Salsa updated their website with the new rides. Must admit I'm dissapointed. I was really hoping for a Scandium 29er HT. Too much heavy steel and EBB stuff. I also saw that the 07 El Santo has moved to a Rock Shox rear. hmmmm.

The new disc only orange Dos Niner is f*cking sweet as is the new CX frame they have.

Time to hit MTBR and start checking out the InterBike coverage. Starts full force tomorrow. Brent and Ryan from T6 are gonna tear up Vegas!!!

Later.
