Saturday Saddle Time

S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. RIDE! Oh yeah, had a sweet road ride today. Legs were spunky, mind was clear, and the Trek was rollin' fast. I tightened some crank bolts and added some lube to my bottom bracket so the "clicking" noise I was getting was gone, and that made it a little easier on the mind.

Did almost every road in my local loop repertoire and got a good 2:30/38.5 miles in. Felt really good on the climbs, and I hit a bunch today. I recently noticed that I've dropped 4 or 5 lbs. and I have to think that it's helping get my carcass up the hills better.

I doubt that the poundage I lost is fat, I think over the summer since I haven't be lifting I've lost some muscle mass. I think I'm ok with that, in fact I'm 85% sure I won't re-uping my gym membership. I used it a lot last year, but EVERY time I lift I put on pounds.

I enjoyed destroying the stair master and watching the gym bunnies, but not sure it's worth $40 a month. I think I'll do my leg strengthening on the bike (trainer) and just lift with dumbbells, plus add in push ups, crunches, and maybe even some Yoga since we have a ton of video tapes laying around with wispy vegetarians looking like they could "perform" on themselves in a lonely pinch (bonus?).

Another thing I've been doing again, is hydrating more. For some reason I stopped drinking as much water during the day at work, and still pounding out sweaty miles on the bike. I think my body starting retaining a bunch of water, so I'm back to roughly 100 oz. of water per work day + more at night. Plus I get to really put a hurt on that new urnial cake we got a work.

Post ride I invoked "OPERATION TOTAL DEVASTATION" on the plant life that lives on the side of my house. Wifey and I are in NO way, shape or form gardeners. We never knew what was a weed, tree, or flower, ssssssssssooooo IT'S ALL GONE! Worked my ass off. It was like a second work out. Cool!

I only wish I had a chipper or something. Packing all up all that carnage was a beeeeeotch. The only bad thing, is now you can REALLY see how bad our house needs painted. Personally I dig the millions of peeling paint flakes that cover the house. Looks "lived in" or like the house is wearing an Angora sweater. Wifey has a different view though.

As I was packing up my stuff from my road ride today I saw a lady getting ready to go out on the rail trail. She was wearing jeans. My taint hurt just thinking about the sweating and riding in jeans. Eeeewwwww.

My ride is done. My work is done. Wifey and B-Man are at Poppa-O's for a bit, so time to crack a Troegs, sit on the porch and get some Zen time.

Later.
