Sub Par, But Still Pretty Darn OK
Funny, woke up this a.m. and had no real urge to ride. Could have a little to do with the weather. I've not seen sun for more than a few minutes since last Sunday. Everything is dark, damp and dank (truthfully, I have NO idea what "dank" means, but people say it). The mushrooms are growing in my back yard again and you have to have lights on in the house in the middle of the day just to see.
I actually did have the urge to ride, just not to road ride and with all the rain I was unsure about off road. Boyce would be super slick, since it's usually fast hard pack would now have a nice film of water and mud on it. So I packed up and headed to Bavington Game Lands/Hillman St. Park to ride for the first time this year.
This was a good and bad move. It was good, 'cause Bavington has a lot of pine that soakes up water and leaves the trails pretty rideable and it was bad because after the first 5 miles or so the trails became super overgrown and I was getting cut up from all the thorn bushes. I can't even imagine how many thorns are in my tires right now making slow Swiss cheese of my tubes. Glad I just got a box O'10 the other day.
It was also good 'cause the Dos was running great and I was clearing some quick root filled climbs that I've never cleared before. The legs felt good too, but the trails (or lack there of) were sucking so bad decided to call it a day after about 1:25. It was hardly worth my time to drive out there, but at least I did SOMEthing.
Gots to do some house stuff, then I'll fire up the tube to wach ND vs. Michigan for a bit whilst enjoying some adult bevies.
Later.

my dad and brother road tripped out to south bend for that game today
while I am at the inlaws for the weekend
today we spent the day at kennywood
in your hood
I'll say, you were about 10 minutes from my digs!
Luckily, I ended up missing the game, got all caught up in lawn work. Wow, ND, got clobbered!
Enjoy your time in WPA, hope you get some sun today.
