Forgive Me Father...
Well today was penance day for this weekend's debauchery. Diet and hydration back on track and spent an hour on the trainer doing some threshold riding, rocking my HR at about 80% max or zone 4 for the Friel heads. Really concentrated on good form and tried to keep the RPMs in the 90s.
I've used Friel's "bible" loosely over the past few years and will continue to use it as a guide, but I'm also planning (and doing) some other stuff. I also talked some folks who's opinions I value, and looking at some different plans that I haven't used in the past in attempt to boost my ability to sustain a faster pace for longer periods and TRY to become more competitive. Especially since my focus in '07 will be more 6, 12, and 100 mile races rather than 24 Hours.
The Panaracer Rampages should be here this week. Talked with Big Al today at Bikeman.com World HQ and after I get them I'll be spending some time evaluating them, then posting a review on the home page as well as right here amidst the stank that is my blog. I did see that the dude from Bike29 digs 'em.
Check out Adam Craig's La Ruta report. Nice 7th place finish even with some mechanical issues.
Oh well time to make make some mix magic and go to bed.
Later.
