Late Fall Riding And New Meats
Headed over to Boyce today for a ride under sunny skies although be it cold. It was in the mid 30s at the ride's start and would warm up to the mid 40 by the end. I'm not a fan of cold weather riding. Give me the heat, but a 1:30 ride outside on single track is better than and hour on the trainer any day.

This false flat up through the field is usually 6' tall weeds filled with Ticks in the summer.
What I could see of the trails were in good shape. Many trails had a ton of leaves, sticks and wind fall. It was like riding while looking through a kaleidoscope. Back in my art school days I would have paid for an "experience" like that. Now I just found it annoying.

The Dos did fine, but the Maxxis Ignitors were not the best choice for fall riding on wet leaves and frost thawed moist trails. Sssssoooo. I went against my earlier stance and ordered a pair of Panaracer Rampage 2.3s. See how they roll for fall/winter riding. Doubt they will see race time in the spring, but who knows.

That's about all I did today. Going over Y-Nizzle's crib for roast beast and some home brews tonight.

yeah, the ignitors are sketchy at best with leaves on the ground. Good call on the rampages. Big, fat rubber will be nice for this winter. Let me know the clearance on the rear stays.
