Pro Road Racing = Pornography?
Is watching pro road racing like watching porn? I'm starting to think so. You watch guys who are (mostly) on dope do super human feats, turn hot (although skank and also doped up) women on, inspire yourself to try replicate such heroic feats, go back and turn off the tv/computer because now that it's over, and you've come up quite short, the whole thing just seems stupid because you realize that they're probably all doped up, the women were faking it and you weren't.
Will I keep watching? Yes. Will I feel stupid when the race is over and the next winner is declared a doper? Yes. Will I watch again? Yes. It's the cycle of porn or the porn of cyling.
What am I rambling about? Doesn't matter. Go to Cyclingnews.com, pick a day and there's BOUND to be a new story about a doper.Later.

Yup. Hard to keep getting excited about the Tour de dope and yet...I'll keep going back to it to watch during workouts.
Had me laughing relentlessly.
Viagra IS supposed to help cycling performance. So I've heard
unfortunately, there isn't a pro sport on the planet that isn't full of dopers. It just happens that cycling is the only one that actively tries to catch them. If the NFL ever started checking for everything that cycling does you'd be left with a bunch of teams with only a scrawny place kicker and a fourth string qb. Unfortunately its the world we live in.
Correct. All sports are pretty saturated with dopers right now. The issue I have is that it's cycling that I do, that I watch and that I love.
I turned to cycling to escape the dross that IS American sports. To watch guys compete and do the same things that I love and do (although on a MUCH lower level)
If some 390lb. NFL knob wants to shoot up, go ahead, I don't care. But when I see a dude do a solo break, cheer for him the whole way and then find out he's a doper. I have issues.
That's when it becomes apparent and sad that yes, these guy work their asses off and find that it STILL takes doping to compete and make money.
Sadly, tis the human race.
Cycling has done the most testing and should be commended on a certain level, much more than the joke that MLB/NFL testing is.
Oh well, I will always be a fan. I just hope to see a day when I can cheer for someone and not have to wonder if I'll look like a fool for doing so two days later.
