The Day of Me
Today was declared a Mental Health Day at 7:25 a.m.
Work was aborted. An hour on the trainer was done, a BIG ass mix was made, eBaying has been done and my Yakima rack will ship out tomorrow to the high bidder.
This time of year is hard. It's hard core winter outside, new parts 'n stuff aren't in yet, races are still far off, but the dates and info are being finalized so needless to say I'm anxious, pent up, and ready to get going.
Makes me think that next year Wifey, B-Man and I should schedule an AZ trip and do Old Pueblo.
Speaking of O.P., Dave Harris is going to putting out some SERIOUS lumens there with his homemade LED light set up. This is how he describes his LED light- "so obnoxiously bright the helmet light is going to be redundant...apologies in advance to anyone that'll be at OP and gets blinded by my luminosity." Dammmmn. Sounds like one of the fastest Solo guys, just got faster with some ingenuity and brain power. Go Dave Go.
Pre season I really need to focus on some night riding. Not my strong suit. I'll be running what is soon becoming "old school" H.I.D. lights. Even though most racers agree that on the helmet is the best location, I may switch to the bar.
Who knows, going to experiment for sure. Been using it for 5+ years and I still haven't found my "sweet" spot for the light. Having shitty night vision anyway doesn't help.
Funny how my season has changed. Just a month or so ago I was saying how I was going to key on the hundies. Now my schedule has a 12, 13, 18, 24 hour race, plus one or two Marathons/100s thrown in. But as is every season, this is all written in sand. If the bod says "no" it means NO! I don't want to race half assed this year.
Oh well, mental health day is nearly over. Time to get some rest to bet back to the grind tomorrow.
Later.

"Mental health days" rock.
i wish I could rig up the led's like dh does. not only does he dump some lumens but his set ups are much cheaper than a quality hid set.
