Easy Living, Day II

Another day of vacation. No rides today. Day off after 3 days in a row on the bike. Wifey and I took B-Man to see Ratatouille (rat-a-too-ee) today. Good stuff. My first time in a movie theatre in about 3 years.

Tomorrow will be an a.m. road ride of 2+ hours and then over to Y-Man/Ms. M's house for some 4th of July beer, burgers, brats and potential roller disco...

Rumor has it Y will be busting out some red/white/blue tube socks, matching headband, Daisy Dukes and an Adidas muscle shirt as he rolls on the Mon Valley spouting a beer fueled jingoistic rant, and pumping James Brown's "Living In America" on his vintage Panasonic Boom Box.

Saw some dude selling burgers and dogs at the local mini mall today out of a food stand pulled by a truck that had various "patriotic" stickers on it, including one that said something like "You Live In America, Speak English".

I was going to point out to him that 95% of the folks in the area are the descendants of folks that didn't know how to speak a lick of English (including my great grandfather and great grandmother) when they came here, but still managed to help build up a pretty cool country. That the folks who come here looking for a better life at least deserve a chance. BUT since I didn't want a "99¢ Uncle Sam Burger & Coke Combo" shoved up my ass I opted just to cringe and walk on by.

Well hope you all have safe holiday, get some miles in, don't blow off any fingers lighting your bottle rockets, and don't choke on any hot dog casings.
