More Mama Ride Time
Low key start to the vay-cay. Wifey wanted to do some back yard garden mulching so me and B-Man headed out for some father/son bonding getting groceries. My fam is sort of whack huh?
Later on it was time for a ride at Boyce on the Mamasita. This ride was much better than the previous ride on dirt. I'm getting used to the X9 triggers, my shock is dialed in, and I'm 99.9% certain that the brake "issue" I'm having is nothing other than a unfriendly pad compound. Anyone have bad results with Kool-Stop pads?
The frame continues to impress me. Not as comfy as my Dos Niner, but that's not why I wanted the frame. I wanted a lighter frame that would handle quicker and climb better, and that's what I got! Doubtful the frame will see the start line at a Solo effort, but for a marathon, XC or training it's freaking great.
It has taken me couple rides to get used to riding a full fledged hard tail again, but I'm digging it. I love the IMMEDIATE acceleration that you get coming off a log pile or out of a corner. It rocks!
Nearly got "skunked" today. Turned a corner near some brush and out of the corner of my eye I see a furry, black and white potential stink bomb. I put the hammer down fast and avoided any stank.
Also avoided a nasty crash. Turned a corner on some damp clay and nearly went down faster than Liberty Ave. hooker. SOMEhow I got my left leg out and avoided any carnage.
Got home to napping B-Man and a Wifey looking to fight crime. So far vacation sort of rocks.
Time to cook up some Mexican and have a Franzi or four.
Later.

soooooo, when you fight crime, what character do you play?
HA! I usually have to be "faithful ward" Dick Grayson A.K.A. Robin.
BTW "crime fighting" is code for yard work. ;)
