Now That Felt Good
Got out by 10 a.m. for an extended road loop of about 43 miles. It was so freaking nice! After 2 weeks of riding in the heat and humidity it was nice just to be warm instead of baked, broiled and fried! Finished up in about 2:30.
Without stashing bottles or doing a loop where I pass the Soob again I really can't get more than 45 to 50 miles in on what water/drinks I can carry. Today it was 1 bottle Carbo Pro/Gatorade, 1 bottle Gatorade, 1 smaller bottle of water in my jersey pocket and 2 PowerGels.
Once home I shoved some olive oil noodles and tuna down my throat and then headed out for some lawn mowing and weed whacking. Little cross training to finish off the afternoon.
Wifey and I got ourselves a babysitter tonight so we're going out with Y-Nizzle and Miss M. Should be a good time.
Check out this article with local 24 hour solo racer Mike Schultz. Nice to see racing getting some press. Coincidentally the article was written by the paper I've worked for for the past 15 years. I guess I've kept my racing habit too far on the down low? HA! Monday I will in my cubical with my team kit on. ;)
Hope all are getting some miles in. Hope to ride again tomorrow then start tapering again for next Saturday.
Later.

"It's recommended for only the most skilled and hardy mountain bikers." That totally made me laugh!
Are you not hardy? ;)
