4th Birthday In The Dark

Today was B-Man's birthday. We had the family over for pizza and cake. B-Man had a blast running around with his cousins and now of course has about a million new toys. JUST when we got everything organized and put together from Christmas! Oh well, if you have or are going to have kids it's best just to get the thought of an "organized" or "clean" house out of your head. Just go with the mess. They'll be out of the house in 20 or so years, right? HA!

Most of the party was held with nothing but Western PA grayshine to light the house. We are once again experiencing HUGE wind gusts here and the power in most of White Oak was out. Great. Luckily we weren't doing any cooking, and the Pizza Hut on the other side of White Oak had power, so guts were filled with cheezy gut bombs. Power came back about 2:30 or so.

I was lucky this a.m.. I was able to squeeze a quick spin in down in the Stankment®. Got just under an hour of nice Zone 1 spinning in before the power went out and left me spinning in the dark. I only had 4 minutes to go, so no big deal. I just wanted enough to blow some cobwebs out of my legs and get a sweat on. I Finished the week with some decent hours for February and only one outdoor ride. Joy.

Time to try to relax after all the Birthday bally-hoo.

Later.

Hi Jason.
Seeing as reading your blog has put me in mind to buy a Mamasita i thought I'd ask you if you could only have a Dos niner or the mamasita, which would you have. I am riding a 12 and a 24 solo this summer so I guess it needs to be comfortable too.
Looks like you had a good birthday party. I can't believe that your son puts up with Morrissy!

William,

Thanks for checking in. If I had to have one for racing solos it would be the Dos Niner. I love both of them, but the Dos is just more comfy over the long haul.

Yes, party was good, and B-Man is a trooper putting up with my music :)

Jason, congrats on Brennan's birthday. It must be great to have a son to spoil with a massive cake, having a supportive wife and being able to ride your bike.
I feel very fortunate though to have the last two.

The season here is very unlike dutch februari weather, it has been sunny for over 4 days now with temps around 7 deg celsius. Time to take the Niner out and start clearing the cobwebs in my head!

Take care, Niek

Niek,

Yep, it's damn great having those things :)

Enjoy the weather and the ride!

Happy Birthday, B-man! And tell your old man he better do some serious riding after all that cake and pizza.

Ha, not too much cake was had. Couple bitew, and that was enough for me! The pizza for some reason f*cked with my stomach so I didn't have my normal 12 to 16 pieces! Of course I ate about 4 plates of Mexican later that night! ;)
