Slowly Coming Together
1 work day down and 3 more days until I head to my first race of the year and 4 more days until I can FINALLY get this side show that is my attempts at racing back on the road. I am not a fan of race weeks. I have so much organizing to do that even when I do get the chance to ride I don't enjoy it as much. I'm going to TRY to change that this week but I'm not counting on it. I'll relax when my pit is set up and I'm out pre riding the course. Then everything seems to come together.
Spent much of tonight getting some stuff together so I don't have to worry about it as the week goes on. Organizing and making lists of all the shit I need is NOT my favorite part of this sort of racing. I hate the fact that I can look at a bin full of water bottles and feel like I might not have enough. I mean WTF? I only use one about every two laps for nutrition and my hydration pack for my, well- HYDRATION! When in doubt, pack it!
The good thing about organizing and packing thing is that by the time the race comes the riding part seems easy. At least for the first few hours! ;)
Did some testing on the Switchback 3 batteries this past week. Both got at least 6 hours of burn time. May have gone longer, but I got tired of wait around for them to drain. So I pulled the plug at 6 hours. So that's 12+ hours of burn time between 2 batteries. For the Bakers Dozen I'll only need about 4 or 5 hours, so one battery will suffice. Gonna try to get out later in the week to get the position dialed in. Racing will be the big test though.
Can SOMEONE tell me what Leif Hoste and Tom Boonen are doing in this picture?
Pissing off a pier or comparing the size of their BIG chain rings?

VERY well done. When you get to the scene that I took the screen shot of,

Stretching??
When I finished last sunday I heard the same music...in my head!
Did you know that every showerbooth bears the name of a past winner, how cool is that! But then again when you're finally in there, your own concern will probably be to find the pull cord.
