A Friday With No Mojo or Ballz

Yep, this is a no ride, no ballz, no mojo Friday. The second week in a row that Turkey Ball Friday has not happened. I just wasn't feeling the ballz tonight. Maybe that's went wrong at Big Bear? I needed Ballz! My cheeks hit the saddle and my bod was like "what about the ballz???" Yeah, I'm sure THAT was it.

Seriously, I was having a real "fat" day today. I felt like I was just jiggling all over the place. I KNOW I've gained weight from last year. I refuse to get on the scale to see how much though. It could be from this or from that. Either way the extra pounds are surely there. I don't want to know how many. I know I need to step up and trim the diet down. The only REAL thing I see that I've had more of is beer calories. I'm hoping to stay clear of as many beers in the coming weeks. It's just hard, 'cause GOD DAMN DO THEY TASTE GOOD!!!

If you combine last week's "suck turned up to eleven" race with my weekday ride hours being down, you have all the makings of a super suck mental state. I've been struggling to get my weekday ride hours. I then have to get big hours (for me) in on the weekend. I still end up with about the same amount of hours, but much of the time it all makes me feel like a sweaty, bloated, hog. Not good.

I am feeling good about racing the Cranky Monkey. Race entered, hotel booked, plan in place. I think 12 hour races and 100s are my fave races. Both take me about the same amount of time and both let my push myself without thinking "wow, I might die out here in the woods!" HA!

As luck would have it, they are calling for a 70%+ chance of thunderstorms through the day. Great. I hope to squeeze at least 2 hours of road goodness in and I REALLY hope for 4+ hours of saddle time. Let's see what the helmet haired weather man throws my way.

Time for some sleep. I need to de-funk.

Later.

SW PA weather is a living thing that hates cyclist. As soon as you decide to ride it attacks producing rain/snow/sleet/hail/lightning/tropical heat/arctic cold/wind storms/fog/temperature inversions/flooding/ or a mixture of all of the above to thwart SW PA cyclist. UGHHHH!

get off the bike a while. I was going through something a similar and best thing to do is put the bike to one side and do something else, painting garden gnomes is a favorite.
