Cool Bike, eh. (If you like that sort of thing)
Cruising around on the Net today I found this pic of the bike that Marie Helene Premont won the recent Mont st. Anne on. Pretty sweet looking. Reminds me of an Orbea Orca road frames meets Gary Fisher Super Fly. CanadianCyclist.com says this eh:"Both Premont and Plaxton were riding a new all carbon Rocky Mountain frame that knocks a pound (454 grams) off the previous lightest hard tail from the company. The molded frame is made in Taiwan, but designed in BC, with a proprietary Rocky Mountain mold.
Both riders said they like the bike, with Premont stating that she plans to race it at the MSA and Bromont World Cups, and in the Olympics. Plaxton, who said that he had had only two rides on it prior to racing, said that he needs to get some more time on the bike before he can really feel comfortable. "It's a great bike to ride, for sure, but the geometry is different from what I am used to, so it's going to take some time."
It's fast looking at nothing else. As I've said before full carbon mountain bikes scare me. But if I was an Olympic level athlete NOT paying for the bike or worrying about warranties, then I say bring it on! Oddly, I cold find NOTHING on Rocky Mountains' web site about it and/or whether this will be a production model or just a one off for the Olympics. I also wonder why Rocky Mountain continues to be one of the last hold outs for a 29er? I've always thought they made nice frames, they must not see a market for it. They seem to be very into that whole "free ride", jump of a cliff type riding that I don't get/understand/ever want to do.I'm soooo board! I'm STILL waiting for my freaking dish washer and am running out of things that I can/want to do around the house. Frig. Is is wrong to drink beer at 1 p.m. on a week day. Yeah, I though so, better hold off 'till night. Still gotz to get out to do some shit after the D.W. comes.
Later.
