The Hair Of The Dog Is Overrated
Saturday night was filled with the watching of Scooby Doo 2 (holy Sarah Michelle Gellar!! What? WHAT??) with B-Man and pizza and a few brews with Wifey. I planned on taking today off the bike and usher in a couple days easier week in the saddle. But, I had a great night's sleep and when I woke up to sunshine and blue sky I was ready to hit the road today with the Campeon and fresh Maxxis rear rubber. But as departure time approached my bod seemed to be running out of steam. In other words I was ssssss-loooooooowwwww-ing ddddddowwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn.
There was no way I was gonna pull of a ride. Nor should I try to. The bod said rest. So THAT is what I was going to do. I'm not so good at resting when it's beautiful outside, BUT that's what I did. Even though I would have loved to spend the day napping and just chilling, family obligations and want/need to give Wifey some solo chill time still had me heading out to my dad's with B-Man. Oh well, I just convince myself that after 4:25 of saddle time in the mountain yesterday, a road ride today would not have lived up to expectations. Deep down I know I'm right! There is no way that a road ride was EVER going to compete with 30+ miles of mountain single track. Not in my world at least.
Tomorrow brings work (Jesus I hate my job. Always have. Always will) and more resting. Tonight brings burgers on the grill, maybe some grilled zukes, and some corn on the cob. Time to make like a banana and get out of here. Or something like that.
Later.
