That Sucking Sound

Not much going down today. Bike related activities were limited to sending in my 24 Hour Champion Challenge registration (you have 'till this Friday to avoid the late fee, so giddy up!!!), making some adjustments to my Mamasita, and surfing the Net looking at bike shit.

I grilled up some burgers and zukes tonight. There was so much garlic on the zucchini that I have a feeling my tongue will be sprouting hair smelling of fermented garlic over night despite planned attempts to combat it. Oh well, I don't plan on making out with anyone too soon. Except Mamasita tomorrow of course.

I saw this coolness on the Princton Tec blog:

The new Princton Tec EOS has 50 lumens is pretty impressive for a small ass, self contained light! I think my Apex (modified) is close to 60+ lumen (EDIT: my Apex has closer 80 lumens) or so, but weighs a little more since it runs on 8 AA batteries. Not sure on what the run times will be. The old EOS model had an estimated 6 hours of regulated LED light on high. I look forward to seeing more about this in the coming weeks. I'm very anxious to see how the EOS will compare to my current Apex light for secondary lighting and to see if any of the other P-Tec models, like the Switchback series, will be getting upgrades in the near future too. I'll keep you posted as I get info.

Did you hear that sucking sound coming frome the White Oak area today? That was me getting TOTALLY freaking sucked in to Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel. Dude (Andrew Zimmern) was in Taiwan. I was intrigued since I've read and seen some of Jason B.'s travels to Taiwan (and China) and wanted to see a little more. OH MY GOD! It was insane! Chicken testicles, deep fried hen's head, chicken uterus, and Stinky Tofu. Dude sucked it down pretty good, but had to spit out the Stinky Tofu. If you're interested you can watch it right here....

I love a lot of Chinese food and my buddy Tom can cook up some SERIOUSLY good homemade Korean food, but I just cannot imagine eating some of that stuff. EVER! I mean if I was starving to death I guess I could suck down some chicken testicles but until then- I'll pass.

So there you go my Monday in a nut shell.

Later.

I look forward to it! (sort of). I just saw that they did a show in Minnesota too. What the hell do you people eat up there that is so strange? Musky Brains? Moose Eggs? On second thought, I don't want to know! :)

I've been hitting a number of those shows too, that and the No Reservations one.

Have to say that a couple of the "things" I saw hanging from meat hooks in Korea were a little different.

I get sucked in to the shows for sure. I guess much of it is all what you're used to eating, seeing, etc., But I'm just not ready to eat a chicken's balls yet.
