A Ride, More Lust, and The Smell of Eggs
Western PA is rocking some SERIOUSLY good weather lately. This just isn't Pittsburgh's style. I'm used to the gray and rain we usually rock, and I just don't know how to act! Oh yes I do- I ride!! Not only do I ride, I ride dirt. This time of year rocks. I'm not concerned about hours, miles, rest, recovery, tapering (not that ANY of that any makes me better). Just riding my mountain bike. It rocks.
Tonight I couldn't say no to the bone dry trails of Boyce, and rolled a quick 11 mile loop after work. The trails rocked, the Mamasita rolled fast, and I sucked hard at the Autumnal bosom of Ma Nature! I think I saw Aaron out there with some folks. I said hi, but not 100% sure if it was him. I was too wrapped up in trail lust. And when I wasn't lusting the perfect single track beneath my wheels I was thinking of the bikes, parts, and gear that I WILL be lusting as reports filter in from Interbike '09. So here's today's lust updates...
Father forgive me. For I lust so much...
My friends at Twin-Six unveiled their '09 line up last week. Lots of good stuff as per usual. I would expect nothing less from Brent and Ryan. How they have time to bust out killer designs AND do all the business shit I have NO idea??? They're not some big bizness, mega corp. Just two designers with a dream, an occasional partner throwing down some designs, and some part time help now and then to help them stuff envelopes and fill orders. Anyway, I'm proud to be associated with them. So instead of showing you all the new stuff, I'll let you look HERE, but I have to mention my fave T6 product of '09. The Team Bib Short...
I can't tell you how well they fit or if the chamois will cup you boyz (or girly bitz) and cheeks like the gentle hands of- "insert your fantasy woman/man here". But what I CAN tell you is that I've pestered Brent for 3 years about WHEN T6 Was gonna provide some cool looking bibs for us. Sometime last year he e mailed me some designs to wet my whistle. I was geeked, but they were running into some issues with the the manufacture, etc., so the project seemed like it was on the verge of collapse. BUT all has come to be, and someday real soon I will have some sweet looking new bibs and a new chamois to soil. Check out the Twin-Six site for all the new cool duds. Including THIS T-shirt that I think I have to get to J.K. at Princeton Tec...
Bike lust keep on keepin' on coming. I love me some Salsa's but that doesn't mean that there aren't other bikes out there I'd like a chance to get some ass time on. Including this....
The Pivot Mach 429. VERY "lust worthy"!But at $2,000+ for the frame I'd have to say NO thanks.
The Salsa booth is now open on MTBR.com. Great googly moogly.
Time for some bike porn and bed.
Later.

It was Aaron you saw, I was riding with him, Glen, Steevo & a couple more guys until I nearly folded my front rim. I was barely able to ride the wobbly rim home. What does the smell of eggs have to do with your blog listing? Am I missing something in your post?
Yikes! See what happens when you ride with Glen! The smell of eggs has nothing at all to do with my blog entry. You do NOT want to know what it has to do with. I can't tell you WHY I felt the need to put it in the title. I'm an idiot.
Ok just making sure I wasn't missing something. Also the new black argyle Twin6 jersey is pimp, I will be sporting one of those when they become available. Should go well with the Mamasita.
Yeah man, that was me, steevo, Jared Babik and the Glen guy. The Glen guy looked familiar, but I had never rode with him before. He proceeded to race around to all sorts of new trails at Boyce with us. It was pretty awesome, just the kind of ride I needed. I'm getting too comfortable riding at my own pace, and also riding non-twisty bomber trails like Frick. I definitely made the blue bike do things I wasn't comfortable with, and a few times thought I was gonna end up over the bars, but somehow cleared things.
I had no idea Boyce had so much, and truthfully, have only really gone there in the winter when snow and for two PORC rides.
