Sunday's Roll

Got a bone thrown to me today in the form of a "free" day to do what I wanted. And I of course wanted to ride. So after 2 to 36 oz. of coffee and some PB&J, I waited it for it to warm up with my one good ear. One good ear? Yep. As if recovering from a blood clot isn't enough, I now apparently have some sort of ear infection type thing, and have little hearing in my left ear. I am the world's oldest 37 year old. But hey, my legs still work and my anal cleft was craving some saddle time. I expanded my clot recovery today and ventured off the rail trail and hit a few back farm roads to get some climbing in and burn a few more calories than the rail trail rides will allow.

The weather was crisp and sunny with a cool breeze that was stiffer than a frat boy in Tijuana. It was so nice to get off of the madness that IS endless miles of flat crushed limestone. Enjoyed rolling the Mamasita with the Reba locked out. Full IRD Fire Pro knobbies working with the wind to hand my ass to me on the road sections and kick the work out up a notch.

There was no sign of Malachi anywhere.

Had a damn nice ride. Missing single track of course, but I continue to take what i can get. So I took 2:25 and 35 miles of rail trail, road, and shit farm roads on full knobbies. Hope to hit a similar loop Tuesday or so, but with lights ablaze. Speaking of lights. I should have a new 50 lumen EOS coming from Princeton Tec soon. Apparently there was supposed to be one in the swag package Justin sent me two weeks ago, but it jumped ship somewhere between his Jersey desk and here. The EOS will make a sweet little addition to my SB3/Swerve set up for fall evenings. Stay tuned, if such things interest you.

I call this photo my Rick Nelson...

Oh well, I'm done trying to make a 2:25 rail trail/road ride sound exciting. To quote the local soccer moms and cubical queens- "It is what it is". (God I feel dirty saying that).

Time to read and get some sleep.

Later.

Gnat- one day at a time man. It felt good.

Pete- I'm damn close to copyright infringment on that one. I can't compete with Rick's rugged manly bone structure though.

Looks like you might be having new helmet "lust". I am going to guess you picked your helmet based on Bikeman's colors.

HA! No helmet lust. Lazer was team sponor and those were the colors. The helmet it too good (the best I've ever had). Colors be damned!

you're both right, the rick nelson is super hot. I didn't realize that I had posted so many pictures of my ugly mug that I named the pic/type. Oh well, I'll take any notoriety I can get!
