A New Day Dawning...
Big day bike day today (OK that's a lie). With Wifey sick AND having some social "chick stuff" obligations with a friend getting married, B-Man and I were on our own most of today. So we headed to the movies to see Bolt. I had NO expectations from this movie, but I have to say it was one of the funnier kid movies I've seen (Bee Movie came close).
The f*cking hamster in Bolt rocked. I know, I know... I've now lost ANY hipster cred I once had by saying a cartoon hamster in a Disney movie "rocked". No amount of indie rock listened to, or art house flicks seen can can save me now. Frig! Anyway it was a blast to hang with B-Man on what is normally "Mommy & Brennan Day". B-Man rocks! PERIOD! End of discussion. No Ifs/Ands/Buts. Seriously...Forget about it.
Later in the day Wifey came home from a day out at some "day of beauty" crapola gig with her girlfriends sporting newly trimmed up eyebrows, nails, etc.. Much to my disappointment a "Brazilian" was NOT in the cards today. But hey, I like to think that ONE day it COULD be. What?? Give me a break! I'm a 37 year old man entering like his 12th year of marriage, I need all the mental massaging I can get! Just kidding of course. OK, I'm not.
Later in the day I stuffed my ass into 3 layers of clothing and hit the Rail Trail with the Mamasita. Today went MUCH better than last week. I made the appropriate saddle height adjustments, so the Lake winter shoes posed NO problem today. I must say Tim The Enchanter at Pro Bikes was 100% correct on the Endura Lobsters. They kicked ass!! My hands were actually sweating and it was only 30 degrees! SWEET! Thanks for the recommendation Timmy-C!!
I'm sure most of you have probably heard about the new DVD/Movie- "The Nine Ball Diaries" about CX racer Tim Johnson. Well I figured I'd do a little documentation of MY 2 races CX season this year....
Look for The 8 Ball Diaries over the next two weeks. If you think me attempting Endurance racing is a scene, wait 'till you get a load of this shit. One marginally talented goof, on a 26 pound 29er mountain bike racing cross. THIS should prove to be both funny AND sad.Later.
