The Night Before The Night Before Christmas

The family schedule is all sort of jacked up this Christmas Eve. My family celebrated Sunday due to work schedules, and Wifey's normal Christmas Eve gig is cancelled due to illnesses, so we find ourselves in the unique situation of NO plans on Christmas Eve.

So I pulled up by britches and braved the Giant Eagle to get some grub. I want to cook up something semi traditional, yet UNtraditional for Christmas Eve. I'm going with some thick ass pork chops that will first take a swim in a Mesquite Grill Marinade, along with some fresh Yams, fresh multi grain bread, maybe some mushroom/brown rice and some veggies. All washed down with some Dogfish Head Indian Brown. I think the flavors should meld quite nicely. There will be no dessert. HA! Kidding, I bought a big ass pineapple, so maybe we'll hunk that up? Get all Don Ho on your Christmas Eve asses!

I'm trying to get my dad to make the oh so long (35 minute) drive to our place to enjoy it with us, but I'm not too confident that he will. Why do older folks become so curmudgeonly? Shit on top of that he's MY dad.. so you KNOW he's curmudgeonly!!

Ditched tonight's workout in favor of shopping and beer. Plan on getting a couple hours in tomorrow A.M. (I hope!). Still have a bunch of feeecus to do tonight... I still need to wrap Wifey's gifts, make dinner and enjoy a beer or two. After B-Man goes to bed Wifey and I are going to watch Step Brothers.

Later.

Did I mention I don't have to work again until January 2nd??
F*cking AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!
