IN JANUARY!!!

Only 5 days until my first race of 2009- Snotcycle presented by Plum Grove Cyclery down in Leesburg. This one feels strange because it's an XC race... an XC race IN JAN-U-F*CKING-ARY! WTF? This will be my first XC race in 6 or so years. Even though it's all for shitz and giggles to chase the winter blahs way (as far as I'm concerned) I'm still a bit nervous on how I'll do. Either way it should be fun and nice to get away from the Dubya-OH for a night. Even crazier than all that is the fact that there are almost 200 folks signed up for the race. IN JANUARY!!!

On the subject of racing, the April 18th Leesburg Bakers Dozen is OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT! 400+ spots GONE! In just a few days. SOME people failed to shit whilst on the pot, and now are NOT racing. To Brad's credit BikeReg.com threw him a registration c*ck block and was down for a bit this weekend. There are SEVENTY FOUR other riders in my class! This is the biggest solo field I've EVER been a part of. And there is a LOT of talent and a LOT friends and familiar names on that list. And that's just the Solos! I think I know more people coming to this race than I know in my neighborhood! I LOVE IT! I just can't believe a race in April is sold out.. IN JANUARY!!

Got some paperwork from my employer today. The clock is officially ticking. I have 45 days to sign 'em and have the weight of 16 years of stress and bitterness taken of my shoulders or endure more and risk a lay off anyway. I think I endure enough during races. Give me a pen. Just not yet! No use being off when the weather's shit! Eh?
