Super Macho

Killer Saturday. I'm pretty bushed, so gonna make this as quick as I can (have you ever noticed I tend to blather on about nothing almost daily??).

Sweet 2:30 in the saddle today. Did a "Knoab Ride" (that would be a road ride on full knobbie tires). Temps were in the mid 50s and it freaking ROCKED! Arm warmers, leg warms and a base layer is all that was needed. I hit some of my regular road loop and some shit farm roads, which were literally covered with GIANT heaps of cow shit today. Jeezzzus, one turd was the size of a VW Bug!! They were also covered with a film of mud, salt, and patches of dirty ice. Thank God I took the knobs.

The legs felt damn good fo a Feburary ride on the road, on a soft tail 29er with full knobbies. I was real happy with the way I felt. In another 3 weeks I'll be able to do similar rides (or longer) almost daily, and really build up some endurance. At least that's the plan.

Why another shot of the Dos Niner's Relish shock? Well I've run into a couple Relish "doubters" over the past week. 1 dude thought the Relish didn't really do anything, the other said he had to run 0 p.s.i. to get travel from the shock. This is a visual Pffffft! Check out the pic above. I got a nice chunk of travel just on a ROAD ride! Granted Wester PA roads are pretty shit, but still. That's a nice little bit of travel for being on the road running about 50 p.s.i.! Remember- ride the Dos like a hard tail and she'll be the most comfortable hard tail you've ever ridden. Ride her like a full susspension and you'll be dissapointed. At least that's my 2¢.

Speaking of full suspension bikes.... Got my Fox fork in the mail today! Buying a used one off of a good friend for a killer price. I also got my front derailleur. I hope to get the Big Mama to Pro Bikes this week to let them build her up. I can't wait to get her all dialed in for the Bakers Doz. in April. Should be nice and comfy for 13 hours in the saddle. If I was on a team, the weapon o'choice would be the light weight Dos, but 13 hours, 37 years, and a shit back call for Xtreme comfort. In other words it calls for the Big Mama.

Once home it was a quick bite to eat, hang with B-Man for a while and then Wifey and I hit Mad Mex for some killer Mexican food and a couple Nugger Nectars. You HAVE to love a BIG hop beer like Tröegs Nugger Nectar. Oh sweet Louise is it good!! The soft tacos were friggin' killer too!

Oh well that's all I have time for, which was STILL enough for you to wish you had the last 3 minutes of your life back. B-Man's 5th birthday party is tomorrow. Dude does't turn 5 'till Tuesday, but tomorrow worked best for the par-tay. Did I mention that B-Man got his first CD ever yesterday? Yep he all about the Spectacular sound track. NOT my first choice, but dude is IN to it, knows all the words, and that makes me happy.
