Lacking
As you will note, I did NOT do a 5 hour race today. Freaking SNOW in Virginia this week f*cked that up. Oh well, I did have a good week in the saddle, entering double digits of saddle time for the first time since last fall.
I can't bitch too much about missing the race, I may have been setting myself up for a motivational let down if I HAD done the race and sucked it up like a $5 hooker during a two for one special. I know I told myself that I would just be using the race for training, but suck is suck. So I guess I avoided that and now have time to build a little more fitness and make a return trip to VA on April 4th. Of course I might just say screw it and use the time to get some big ass mileage in for the Bakers Doz.
Today was lacking on many levels. One level is that I didn't get dressed/leave the house until almost 4 P.M. today. I could have got a road spin in but just felt like chilling today. So I did some mag work, laid about, and worked on my Dos Niner a bit.
By "working on my Dos Niner", I mean that I put my new 100mm Ritchey Stem on, but now need to go to Pro Bikes for some smaller spacers so shit fits tight. I'll probably have them double check stuff too. I tend to f*ck a lot of shit up and terms like "catastrophic failure" get bantered about. Better safe than impaled on a steerer tube at the bottom of a descent. Just sitting on the Dos in the Stankment the 100mm felt good. I think using the 120 had me WAY too freaking stretched out, and my 37 year old back has had enough of that. Only a long ride will let me knw for sure.
I'm still lacking a computer/heart rate monitor that work all the time. Bloody hell! Neither one works proper. Grrrrr!
I had soft rear tire in the Dos. Not sure what that was all about. When does this Stan's stuff work? Not flat, but real freaking soft. I pumped it up to 35 p.s.i and it seems to be holding, I'll check again later. Pardon my ignorance, but it's my first year with Stan's and I get a bit nervous. Sorry.
Later.

if they were just recently stans'd than you probably just have a pinhole somewhere that didn't totally seal so it's very slowly leaking out. pump her up a bit and shake the tire trying to spread the goo on all areas of the inside of the tire. that should do it.
if the stans has been in for a while (more than a couple of months) than you might need to add more since it could be dry inside of the tire.
it was super fresh with one ride on them. think it's good. thanks for the tip. see you ARE more than just NADS and French Maid custumes
Jason,
Make sure you shake the bottle really good and hold the bottle upside down for a bit before pouring in the tire. Helps to make sure all the little crystals get into the mix better.
