A Shark Jump
Not much going on today. OK, that's a lie, I had a bunch o'shit going on. I guess more specifically there was no REAL ride shit going on. I woke up to dark clouds and a predicted day of rain. In between doing some XXC layout stuff, some house stuff, and getting the B-Man, I hurriedly squeezed in an hour of spinning while watching Starsky and Hutch.
It was fun enough and I was glad to get a workout in. BUT beyond 5 or 10 minutes of light rain, the green blob on the radar and the weatherman's predictions never really materialized. In the end I felt as used as a "oh baby I deleted that video of us ages ago" girlfriend and was left (real) rideless on the day. CURSE YOU VILE WEATHERMAN!! I SPIT ON YOU AND YOUR SIDE SHOW MAGIC!! OK, OK, I'm relaxed, I'm relaxed, no worries, There's always tomorrow. Or the next day, right?
I'm still sort shocked at how fast my jobless days go. I work 400% harder now than I did two weeks ago. I still miss my chickies, but not the bullshit or the chimp work. In a years time I might be missing a f*cking pay check, but for now I'm enjoying every second that I don't have to answer to someone.
I'm hoping to ease through the week and then pull off a 4+ hour ride on the weekend. Hope it happens, my taint is not callused enough.
Later.
p.s. I have this strange "Jump the Shark" feeling about my blog. I might have to ease up. OR it might just be gas. Who knows?

Pete- oh yeah, let the smack talk start. How was your day at work?
serenity now.........SERENITY NOW!
You are not alone when you write: "I'm still sort shocked at how fast my jobless days go. I work 400% harder now than I did two weeks ago."
In my case it is even hard to fit in cycling.
I sometimes pick up my daughter from day care/nursery, come back to the house and think what have you achieved today (job hunt, setting up my business and house chores).
It is strange even though you are working harder when you are "jobless", you always have the feeling that you should have done more.
I found it really useful to bullet point my activities and to discuss them with the missus in the evening. You suddenly realise where you spent you time and it can be far less frustrating.
All the best for XXC.
Remember brother you'll never get back that day you didn't ride and even though you have tomorrow you are still one day closer to race day. You don't want to end up like me, one month before and hoping that you still have enough of that mojo you built from last season to pull you through. Weather be damned! Get out and ride. Once you start the cranks turning you'll be glad you did.
