That's More Like It

Waking up to a sunny day totally starts the day off right. No wonder folks who live in sunnier climates tend to be more laid back and many of the folks in my neck of the woods, including myself, our wound up tight Cameron Frye style.

"Pardon my French, but Cameron is so tight that if you stuck a lump
of coal up his ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond."
-Ferris Bueller

So with the sun out and any potential lump of coal in my ass removed, I got my shit together PDQ this morning, so I could head out for a couple hours on the road.

There's something to be said when you start a ride on a cool (40 degree) day, those first few deep breaths that sort of singe your lungs and nose. Feels good. It's sort of a slap in the face from Ma Nature to say "Get movin' asshole!!! You wanted f*cking sun, you got f*cking sun, now ride you piece of shit!!" Not sure if I've ever mentioned it, but I always imagine Mother Nature as a real foul mouthed, ball busting domineering type woman. But again, I've said too much.

So as not to disappoint "mother" I did kick it in, and had a nice ride. Been a couple of rides since I did my standard 2 hour loop, so it was nice to do it again and see some progress. I'm longing for dirt, but didn't have the time to make the haul to Boyce, and I was unsure of the trail conditions. After today's warm temps, they might be ok, tomorrow if I can get there before the rains come back. If not, no worries, I'll be getting 5+ hours of dirt come Saturday.

Once home, I walked over to B-Man's school, picked him and up and we walked home so as to enjoy the sun. Then we headed to park where he had Tuesday Afternoon Crits.

All in all a great day. Got some work done, a ride in, and spent a great afternoon with my boy. Where he did all the standard boy things... rode his bike, threw rocks in the creek, swung from a vine in the woods, played "super spy" and talked trash on me. Which I captured on video!! But I gotta iMovie it 'cause it's too long. That little!!!...

I leave you with some words of wisdom...When you are getting ready for a ride the preferred order for getting dressed should be something like, apply Bag Balm, base, bibs, jersey, socks. NOT, I repeat NOT apply Bag Balm, Socks, etc., etc., OR you end up with this....

Sweet Jesus! Look at that! Figures double basted all the goodies today too due to last night's dinner and a pot of coffee rocking my caboose this morning. As soon as I sat down, I was like "oh snap!" I think it sort of looks like stencil art. Too bad it's my freaking ass on our freaking bed!! I really thought Wifey was gonna shit, but she took my idiocy in stride. I think I MIGHT see an outline of Elvis in there somewhere.

Later.

I heard that every ass-print is unique. No two are alike.

Dude I’ve done the bag balm thing b4 but I accidentally sat down in my buddies car. Oops. It took us about 30 minutes and several post ride beers to notice it then figure it out. Hey while you are down in Vadge you need to head on down to Roanoke and race this race on Sunday. You’ll love it, epic back country riding, lots of rocks and some great folks. Useful prizes as well. I’m getting a motel room in Roanoke on Sat. if you want to crash out Sat. then roll back home Sun evening.

Washing sheets? Then she would have thought something freaky was up.

Metro- Can't do the race due to time, etc. Although the thought of "useful prizes" and more time in Vadge is interesting. ;) I'll be lucky to make it though 5+ hours at Hilbert!

You should use something that goes on clear... then it'd be less conspicuous ;)
