Back At It!
Kicked around the idea of taking the Dos Niner out on a Shit Road ride today, then I kicked around the idea of just doing my normal road ride loop... then I woke up and saw that we didn't get any rain over night and that from the looks of weather.com, we might not get any until later in the day. So I did what I had to do... I gave the big middle finger to the road and it's bastard brother/retarded cousin- the rural ghetto road and rode sweet... beautiful.... SINGLE TRACK!
I really wanted to get the Dos Niner out, so I could test out the stem adjustments I made and see how the back felt, so I headed to Boyce to get a couple hours of dirt in.
The trails were in perfect condition, the bike felt great and my back felt great (for now). More importantly, my legs felt nice and spanky and I felt super motivated to ride. The 3 days of rest really paid off. Being 20 degrees cooler than the last time I rode DID help a bit.The weather looks WET the next 5 days or so, so I was glad I got some good single track riding in today. I still hope to get to the mountains on Saturday, but I'm sure it won't be too dry. Oh well. TODAY was great, so I'll just concentrate on that.
Later.

There you go again, taking great pics of Boyce that I don't recognize. Anyway did you check out the log pile that you hate? Did the fix to it bring back the flow to that portion of the trail?
Ha, I took that pic JUST for you! No no "fixing" of the log pile. The trails gnomes did a good job of making it pretty much a lump of dirt now. What I don't understand is the effort they went through to make a downed tree a lump of dirt. Why not just cut it out, make it a regular old log pile OR just leave it?? Seems like a lot of work for some OK-ish results. IMO.
BTW that trail is the climb up to the RC airport after the graffiti tunnel.
