Bug On The Road
Wifey and I had a great time last night. Chillin' out, eating some Mexican, drinking a few craft brewed beverages on the front porch, and celebrating her 38th birthday. I did manage to watch one full period of the Penguin game which broke my previous record of all most a whole period that I set two Saturdays ago. Nothing against it, it's just as I get older I have little interest in sports that I don't actually play or ever did play. Really I can't tell you the last FULL non cycling sporting event I watched. Anyway, I'm glad they one, it's good for the city. Now whether the city actually DOES anything with the revenue that the was/will be brought in is doubtful at best, but lets just try to be a little positive, eh.
With most everyone I know at Big Bear this weekend, and all my trails soaked by a weeks worth of heavy rains, I aborted any trip to the mountain and just headed out for a road ride, ON my road bike, which was the first time I was on it for almost a week. Felt good to be back on. That damn bike fits me so good, it's sick. Really, I'm nauseated just thinking about it.
It took me a while to get motivated this a.m.. I was up a 6:30 as usual, but just couldn't get motivated. I sat around starring blankly at my computer screen for a couple hours. Not sure what the hell I was waiting for, but finally I got the mojo to get kitted up and get my ride in.
Ride was the ride. 32 miles or so, a couple bits of fresh road, fresh legs, and home to chill and have a few beers before we head up to my father in-law's digz for Wifey Birthday Celebration Park II.
This pic was sort of funny, note the bug on my stem (may have to enlarge). That dude stayed on my stem and bars for a good 4 miles or more. Hope he enjoyed the ride.
Later.
