The Sink Hole
Not much going on today. Lots of house stuff that I needed to catch up on and start. The disrepair of my home and yard is sort of like my financial debt. If I think about it I will become completely overwhelmed to the point of hyperventilation. BUT if I just plug along and never really look at my balance or in this case too closely around my home and yard, then I can live in semi/temporary/almost happiness.
So grass cutting and some slight hedge trimming would have to suffice for my "house work" contribution today. Beyond that my skills at maintaining a house are at the sub zero mark. I have a theory that there are three kinds of home owners- Those who "do the work themselves", those who "call someone who knows what he/she is doing" and those "who should be calling someone who knows what he/she is doing, but for some reason never picks up the phone and watches their house fall down around them". Yep, I'm the third one. But hey I got some sweet bikes!! :)
Only a few more days until the long road trip to Michigan and the L'Jack. Weather looks like it could be a factor with some rain and storms predicted right now. I've heard from some people who've raced it before that a little rain actually helps the course, but if we get rain like last year, it could suck. Long and hard. Like 100 miles long and like 100 miles in the rain and muck hard. Ah what do I care? Bring it on! Do you really want another lame race report, where all I talk about finishing a race in 60ish place and having a good time. NO! So lets spice it up with some shit weather and misery baby!
Anxious to get on the bike tomorrow and blow out some stress. Hope to get some dirt in. But hell at this point I'd settle for riding a tandem on the boardwalk of some trash and needle laden east coast beach.
Later.
