Getting It In

So as not to end up in the same predicament as yesterday I made sure to get out on the road before our daily dose of rain showers occurred. Mission Accomplished.

Nothing spectacular today. Just my normal 30 mile loop. Oddly my "30 mile loop" could describe about 3 or 4 routes I have. As hard as I try, they ALL seem to end up at 30 to 32 mile. WTF? No worries though, since that's about what my morning ride time allows.

Since I was doing a loop I thought I'd lay down
some extra loops in the form of some sweet skids...

I found it hard to believe it was the second of July. The skies were as gray as cougar's bacon strip and the temps were only in the mid 60s. It's JULY!! It felt like early April. But hey, I ain't bitchin' I'm EMBRACING the W.S.E. baby!

I threw down my 30 miles, managed to sweat out some funk, and beat a freaking DOWNPOUR by about 30 minutes. Eeesh. It might be freaking NEXT summer until the trails are dry. Is there a drought dance? I think we have enough moisture now, I think Ma Nature (bitch!) could shut the taps off for a bit. I gotz shrooms in my chamois!

The 3 day weekend started tonight when Wifey got home. Hey to me (being a jobless, slacker, with little to contribute to society) everyday is Saturday, but to her out there bringing home the low salt, low fat bacon, a day off is a blessing and is to be cherished. So I latched right on to her coattails and cracked a few Dogfish Head Indian Browns (AKA the Best Beer In The World) with her tonight. Thanks Wifey!

Time to cook up some Mexicana de la Trailer Park (or 2 story house in disrepair). Tomorrow MIGHT have me getting some ride time in, but most likely I will try to cut my 10" high grass, yard work, and cleaning my skank house before a couple friends come over for a 4th of July "throw down". Of course by "throw down" I mean 3 adults, 2 kids, and whatever the hell I am having a cookout.

Got something en route from QBP to get built up in the coming days. Anxious. It's something that will better fit what I have planned for the rest of my season and maybe beyond. More on that next week. I do have to thank some folks HERE and THERE for making it happen though. Hmmm should be one hot summer, even if it does keep raining!

EDIT: Upon re-reading this post and checking for over the top spelling errors (something I'm often quite guilty of) I realized that I mentioned BACON twice. In it's "strip" form and in monetary reference. This is probably two more times than I've ever mentioned bacon before. Coincidentally I BOUGHT bacon for MAYBE the 2nd time in my life yesterday. Seems like EVERYTHING is coming up bacon these days. Freaky.
