Fun In The Fall

While I didn't get time on any dirt today, I DID get time on my bike and that is really all that matters. Did a nice 30 mile road loop on my Mamasita out in Scottdale. Nice back roads, low traffic, fall colors and the whirl of my knobbies to make 2:10 feel like 3:10.

The colors this fall have just been unreal. Not sure what the deal is. Maybe it was the shit load and a half of rain we got all f*cking summer? But fall in WPA is popping! Knowing that Old Man Winter will be "tea bagging" us PDQ with his graying sack of cold and ice, is not a pleasant thought, but for now I'll take all the good weather riding I can.

Tomorrow starts Operation Eating Disorder. No meat, cheese or beer for 5 of 7 days out of the week. It's not pretty but it needs to be done. The weather is good enough to get some nice riding in, and the weight issue is not so out of control I can't put and end to it before it gets out of hand. The "reward" eating needs to stop. That is one of the big things. Riding 2 hours a day does NOT give me a licence to eat and drink like a f*cking glutton. Eeesh. I have some issues. Oh well, I could use the discipline.

Time to get some rest, get ready for the monastic lifestyle that is hurling itself at me.

Later.

Enjoy the fall while it lasts, because there's half a year of fecal matter on the way :-(

If I "worked" at home like you, I'd be a fat load for sure.
