Lack Of Tempo

Took a break from some sitting in front of the computer screen today, and went out for a quick tempo spin down the rail trail in attempts to blow some mental funk out of me. Sort of worked, but sorta didn't.

Funny how quick the trees loose their leaves. One good windy day and... gone. 'Till next year I guess. About 30 miles is all I can really stand on the rail trail. I can NOT believe that my teammate Don will crank out like 100+ miles rides on it. I usually just like to just use it as a way to easily get to the back roads, but today I did a quick 1:40. That was enough of that for a while.

Temps were crisp and I thought I was overdressed given I was only gonna be out for about 1:40. But by the time I got back to the car I was getting freaking cold! The car said it was like 60, there was no freaking way! Felt like high 40s to me.

I think the wind had something to do with it. I didn't really notice on the way up to West "fig" Newton, but on the way back some small gusts would slow me down like I was pedaling in freaking quicksand. It was quite maddening. Really.

Like to get out tomorrow for something, but not sure if I will. I want to get a few things done with the mag that I'm really close to finishing and start another few pages.

Later.

Dude, you need to change it up some. How many rides in a row have you done the rail trail / back road loop? If you can get a ride in before it rains today, I would suggest Boyce. I hit it up last night & the trails were suprisingly really dry.

The secret to long rail trail rides in good music on the Ipod shuffle!

It's been a few, but it's the easiest. Driving 25 minutes each way to ride for 1:45 is not worth it. I gotz too much feecus going on right now. With this ride (although I didn't do it yesterday) I can get 2.5 to 3 hours in, in the same amount of time and get enough stuff done that I can (hopefully) ride the mountain or other dirt on the weekend.
