Now THIS feels like a Saturday

Nothing sucks the life out of a weekend like NOT riding. And for the past months, every weekend has felt like Monday. But today it was oh soooo normal, with 3 hours of ride time. And it was sunny... AGAIN! I'd hate for WPA to burn through all its sun days before spring and summer even get here. But I'll take what I can, what I can get it. Sort of like my sex life.

Noticed some brake rub on the Mamasita during yesterday's ride. It was rubbing just enough to not let the wheel spin as freely as I would like. I didn't feel like looking at it too much, so I took the Dos Niner out today. The Dos is sporting Maxxis Ignitors, and I really didn't want to be riding her out on the freaking road, but I figured it would give me a chance to stretch out the new cables and dial in some shifting. Better now than on the race course. Glad I did too, 'cause the higher gears where getting some chain skip. I futzed with it a bit, and got it good enough for the ride to not be annoying.

Riding my Dos Niner is such a freaking noticeable difference from my Mamasita. Lighter wheels, better crank, ceramic bearings in the BB. Compared to how the Mamasita feels, the Dos feels like a freaking road bike! Everything just spins up so quick on it. It's a better bike than I am a rider, that's for sure.

I found a new rest stop during my pee break today.

It was so freaking great to be out for the 3rd day in a row. I was able to get in 3 hours today, and 7.5 hours in the past 3 days. That combined with the weeks earlier trainer rides pushed me into 10+ hours this week. After 3 weeks of nothing BUT trainer, I'll take that!

Enjoyed some post ride refried beans and a hop devil, which was SUPER yummy. Time to go make some guacamole for tonight's dinner festivities.

Later.

Hey man. I'm right there with you. It was chilly, but at least the sun was out. After way too much trainer time I got out on the road today for awhile, and it kicked ass. Only got chased by 3 dogs too. Surprisingly, every pick-up that passed gave me plenty of room. But the Chevy Cavalier driven by some faces-of-meth, smoking a Kool menthol, on the cell phone, toothless hag nearly killed me and then herself making a ridiculous pass with traffic coming in the opposite direction. I'm pretty sure she will live to be 97 while someone who has lived a clean, productive life will die in her place. Such is the world.
