Take My Stank, Please
This winter just has me lost. I feel great mentally (a first?) and physically (thank you Stankment, treadmill and weight machine) but I feel like I lost my bikeness.
There's been no racing, no real outside riding for a few weeks, and I feel a general loss of my Soiled Chamois-ness without long mile to get in, pictures to take, or races to race. Oh, I'm still bike obsessed, geeked to race, and brainwashed by every Velo Zealot from Maine to New Zealand, but it's just all a bit off.
So with XXC Mag #6 to rest, some business stuff tied up, and the roads pretty damn clear for the most part, I vow to hit the road starting tomorrow and shed this winter stank. I also want to focus more on my bike goals and resurrecting the Soiled Chamois to give it that fresh turd luster you all have grown to love. Or hate. Either way,
One of my fave song ever. Love the Stones!
Stone Roses that is.
So what are some of my goals and things on the "to be geeked about list" you ask? Wait, you're still listening to that f*cking Stone Roses track, aren't you? Sweet, idn't it?...
Random order...
Top 15 at Leesburg. I wanted a Top Ten, but with the f*cked up start to this season, I'll be happy with a top 15 in a huge field of 90 solo types freaks.
Love, lust and fondle the yet to be got, but surely will have in time El Mariachi.
Ride a hundie in the Western PA mountains, just 'cause.
Ride my road bike more, OR sell my road bike. There's a 50/50 chance of both.
Top 5 (in class) at the Cranky Monkey 9 Hour.
Do an overnight bike trip in the mountains. IF I can get someone else to come. I'm too scared of getting ate by a bear, or more likely sodomized and murdered by angry red necks, to go myself.
Get a better bike tan. Last years was damn good. It was so good that I actually got bib tan lines THROUGH my jersey. Of course in 5 years I'll probably be rockin' a melanoma the size of a small child on my back. I'm kidding about the tan of course, just my way of saying I can't wait to get some miles in out in the sun. Then again, it only takes me till about June to remember that Pittsburgh only gets like 20 days of sunshine a year, but 330 days of rain or snow.
Looking forward to rockin' the XXC kits this season. They should be coming in the next week or so. Fingers cross they turned out well. I wouldn't worry that much if it were just me, but some folks were smitten enough with them to order some, so I really hope they turned out well.
Should be rocking some threads of the Six soon to. Brent and Ryan always do up some super cool duds to keep us all looking less nerdy and more comfortable in our bike nerd skins out on the road and trail. Happy to say I've been with them from the start. They're sort of like a cult.
Take more time to suck in the sport and enjoy each ride and race for what it is/was, not what I thought it should be, or what someone else thought it should be.
Have the continued tinnitus in my ear replaced with this song looped over, and over, and over...
and over, and over...
Later.

I will gleam with all the intensity of a post wing and beer night morning.
I love the stone roses. School days are back again :-)
I didn't think they got that far in the US though...
William, they didn't. It's me and I think one other guy. LOL!
BTW your mag should ship out tomorrow. Thanks!

And I can assist w/company on an overnighter or two if you can make the trip down to Vadge as I have about 7 that I would like to get in this season. But first tomorrow is pay day witch means I will have a fresh copy of XXC over breakfast and coffee. Sweet! Thanks for all the dedication to the mag.
PS. What’s your delivery date on the Ti El Mariachi..July?
Hit the saddle outside while you can.
Peace,
Metro
That "event" looks incredible Metro. The TiEM might be around in April, depends on which order I got in on. Thanks for the support with the mag too!
(that also goes for all of you, thanks!)
