Yikes! Skiing??? Ouch!

Good week of XXC work and gym stuff but no riding. An hour on the trainer doesn't count! BUT today I made up for it all by joining Chris M. and his friend Shirley in some cross country skiing up at XC Ski HQ. I am NOT a XC skier, I just sort of shuffle along, sweat my ass off and try not to fall. UNNNNNlike Chris and Shirley who are freaking amazing. I haven't seen skiing like that since I skied with my buddy Tom and his wife Chris back in PA. And their skate skiing was freaking amazing and I can even fathom doing it. Very impressive.

On top of all that, other than some putzing around at White Oak Park last year, I haven't done any real XC skiing in about 6 years or more. Then today I did roughly 10+ miles. Every "shushh" by the end hurt, and walking hurt even more once off the skis. There is a LLLLLLLOT of work to be done on my technique and lack there of.

It was a good day out in the crisp, snowy Michigan air. I burned a ton of calories and put them all right back in at the end of the day with a serious binge. UG!! I wanted to get out on the bike tomorrow for some snow riding, but I really don't think that is going to happen. Unless of course I can Phil McGroin by tomorrow A.M.! UGGGGG!

Monday is the kick off to the worst two weeks of the year. I pray they go fast and quick. Like a knife to the throat.

Anyway, I will blog as needed/wanted. In the mean time, did you check out the super time wasting video/info dump I did on the XXC Blog? OR the freaking 100 (freaking plus!) races that are now up on the XXC Events pages? Well you should. Or you're lame. OK, I'm kidding of course, I am the lame one who can't feel my groin. NOT for lack of trying! ;)
