Pretty Darn Not Bad

Pretty stoked with the weekend. And that is saying something for me to be stoked on a winter weekend WITH snow, and NO riding. I did get a nice ski in with the family on Saturday at XC Ski HQ, and then today solo at Deerfield park right outside of town.

As far as terrain is concerned I think I enjoyed today's ski more than yesterday. It was more rolling, and that made it a bit more fun. The snow was better yesterday though. But what do I know? After all, I put the ghetto in XC skiing. OK, that really doesn't make any sense. I guess it's my way of saying I could ski on rocks and sand, and probably wouldn't notice a difference. I just know I was going faster yesterday getting my glide on. Still praying for the day I can turn a corner without coming to a dead stop.

I did have fun today, but would have liked to have gone longer. Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday I can get out longer.

I did a quick 3 mile-ish loop and then hit the road, as Wifey and B-Man were heading to some WinterFest deal in "Little Bavaria," and I thought it best I tag along. Since come spring and summer, I am a slippery pickle to get hold of for some family stuff. Not to mention it earns be booty points with my female lady. BONUS!

We drove a long way, saw some neat things, spent some time in the (cold) sun, and then drove home. It was a pretty not bad time. Not sure any of us would do it again, but it was neat to see and blow some winter stink off of us.

My snow sculptures from the day...

And this...

But then of course there was this...

Which HAD to be done. While I've "choked" my share of chicken, I didn't know how I would do at chicken bowling. So I let B-Man handle it...

TOSS THAT CHICKEN!!!

All in all a great weekend. Plenty of home cooked White Trash Mexicana, good beer, quality family time, quality Wifey time, outside exercise, and good times.

XXC #10 will hit digital shelves tomorrow. Stay tuned. Then a short work week followed by a trip to PA. I would rather stick a needle in both eyes, and sit in vat of boiling monkey feecus, than drive 13 hours in 4 days to go to PA in February, but duty calls.

Lots to do this week, some good, some a pain in the ass, some boring. But so let the week begin....

Later.
